Welcome
The Friends of Moorfields is a registered charity, raising funds for the benefit of the patients of Moorfields Eye Hospital, a world centre of excellence for the specialist treatment of diseases of the eye.

Members come from all walks of life - patients, their relatives and friends, former patients and other well-wishers.

Founded in 1963, our primary aim is to provide supplementary services and equipment for the comfort and well-being of patients and their visitors. We contribute towards buying much needed technical items for professional use in the hospital's clinics, outreach centres, operating theatres and research laboratories.

We also promote and manage a wide range of volunteer work, supporting the work of the hospital and adding to the service provided.

EVENTS, ACTIVITIES, SALES

Our Events and Activities section will provide dates and details of our varied programme.

The next major event is a special concert at the Chelsea Old Church on Tuesday 28th September. Entitled "Musical Medics for Moorfields" this occasion offers a wonderful opportunity not only to listen to some very talented young musicians in an amazing setting, but also to help us raise a substantial sum in support of the hospital's work. Follow the link on this page.

The Art and Jewellery sections of our Image Gallery will tell you about paintings and items of jewellery currently available for purchase.

Proceeds from sales and all fundraising activities boost the Friends' funds, helping us to support the work of the hospital.

Need more? Contact the office at any time. We are always pleased to discuss offers and suggestions.

COLLECTING DAYS - HELP REQUIRED

Many members of the public are happy to support the work of Moorfields Eye Hospital and we are anxious to increase the number of opportunities. Friends' Collecting Days are held at London stations and stores with our team of volunteer collectors giving two or three hours of their time to help.

See Events and Activities for collecting opportunities in the next few months.

We are anxious to build on recent collecting successes and need to recruit new members for the team. Some volunteers give a couple of hours a month, many a great deal more, others perhaps only on one or two occasions a year. We will gratefully accept whatever you feel able to offer!

Please contact us if you might be interested.
