Friends Shop
The main Friends of Moorfields Shop (on the ground floor of the City Road building) is a veritable treasure trove. It operates in an amazingly restricted space but still manages to offer a range of around 800 items and can fulfil the needs of most patients, visitors and hospital staff members.
Usually in Stock: - Newspapers, magazines and books - Sweets, chocolate bars, boxes of chocolates - Soft drinks in cans, cartons and bottles - Fresh fruit - Greetings cards - Diaries and calendars - Brooches and badges - Stationery and wrapping paper - T-shirts, sweatshirts and baseball hats - Full Norfolk Lavender range - Toiletries, spectacle cases and comfort pillows - Slippers - Tea towels - Souvenirs bearing the Friends' name or peacock logo - "Posture Pillow," post-operative aid recommended by Moorfields' nurses - The History of Moorfields in three volumes In addition a Second-hand Books shelf and the special "Donated Goods" corner sell a variety of items so kindly provided by wellwishers. The second shop - in the Children's Centre on Peerless Street - opens for a few hours every day. A cafeteria, alongside the shop, serves drinks and snacks, with our shop concentrating on newspapers and magazines, cards, souvenirs and a selection of other goodies.
